LUKMAN October 2004
Name: ArcTan, Ultimate Ninja, Defender of the Family Jewels, and Sweet InverseFunction.
No, that was a lie. Lukman, Slacker, Wastrel, and Often Found Upside Down...
1.what instrument/s do you play?
HA HA HA! Oh. That wasn't a joke... Uh, maracas, and uh... That's about it.
2.what instrument/s would you like to be able to play?
Drums. Lots of drums.
3.what made you decide to become a musician?
It sounded like a cool way to spend an afternoon.
4.what was the first album you bought?
From a shop? Probably Moby. Or was it Pulp Fiction?
5.no honestly?
I can't remember, it could have been something else, but those two stick
out because they were on special offer.
6.what was the last album you bought?
St. Anger? That can't have been the last album I bought, can it?
7.the first single?
Something by Leftfield, or Roots Manuva. Maybe both.
8.whats in your cd player?
Jedi Knight 3 Jedi Academy (a case of CD confusion- I can't find the Jet Set Radio Soundtrack!).
9.which musicians inspire you?
Sam, Rob, whoever is around really.
10.who (real or imaginary) do you aspire to be like?
Aspire? Hope? Being like somebody else? I must try that at some point...
11.which songs have helped you wake up in the morning?
Anything loud enough. Um. One sleepless night I tried to program the timer
function my music system. I was awoken an hour early by the sound of Slipknot at about 2&½
times a reasonable volume. I was out of bed in less than a second, thinking "SHIT! SHIT!
TURN IT OFF BEFORE IT WAKES UP THE NEIGHBOURS!" I think the song was "I am Hated".
12.which songs have helped you go to sleep?
Ican't remember. I wasn't exactly awake at the time... No, it's just that I haven't listened to
music to get to sleep for years, and while I can sleep with music it doesn't generally help.
13.what do you sing in the shower?
Sing? In the shower? I'm usually too busy showering. To me, singing in the shower seems
as crazy as, er, reading while you shit.
14.favourite books?
Let me think about that... Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" was pretty cool.
also liked "Forever War" by, Joe Haldeman. Must be something else...
15.favourite films?
Well, there's so many that seemed cool at the time, that I can't remember now.
They would probably appear crap in hindsight.
Umm... Memento was cool. Zatoichi rocked. Fong Sai Yuk was so damned hardcore I
converted Sam to the ways of Jet Li. Whouayaaaaagh! WuZAAAAAA! ShoRyuKen!
16.classic tv?
Off the top of my head, Nightmare. They should bring it back. Now! Same goes for Reboot.
Sesame Street. Um. Wobbl and Bob (Or Weebl and Bob). Rainbow. Oh yes... The fun we had...
After a long hard days of being lonely and picked on at school, I could always go home, watch
kids TV, and be lonely and picked on at home. Just kidding Muhtar! No! Don't hurt me! Nooooo!
17.most importantly, favourite pizza topping?
Whatever I can find in the fridge. Oh I've got one to piss off Sam a "KebabFeast". It's a Pizza
with the meat of three animals, prepared in about 5 different ways, all piled onto one pizza.
Hardcore!
18.Where would you ideally like to live?
I've never thought about that before. A house? With doors and windows maybe. And separate
rooms inside. And while we're a itt, it'll have gun turrets and rocket engines and can fly and go
underwater all the time.
It will be so nearly be a mammal that it will be totally sweet and awesome!
19.top albums of all time?
What's good? Ummm... Well I'm listening to Master Of Puppets so that'll have to
do as a response. I just can't think much further afield than that!
20.favourite songs?
How about Master of Puppets? Oh, O.K., something different. Kaiowas? Maybe that
shouldn't count... Ratamahatta! That's got to be in there somewhere.
Oh, and that one Sam wrote. Sounds like Boltthrower, but better. Don't ask how.
21.any good advice?
I'll give you some of the most useful, universal advice ever given to me.
"DON'T"
22.any good musical advice?
Yeah, uh, how about "That's not a cup holder!". Not good enough? Er, maybe "Plug
the speakers in! You have? Then turn it on!
Wiggle the cable! No, the other hole..."
